BIO Investor Forum Presentation Details & Guidelines

Presentation Format

  • For regular Private and Public companies, presentations will be limited to 25 minutes in length, including Q&A. We highly suggest keeping the presentation to 20 minutes and reserving 5 minutes for Q&A.
  • For Discovery Track companies, presentations will be limited to 13 minutes, including Q&A. We also suggest reserving a few minutes for questions from the audience.
  • All presenters must prepare and submit their presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint for PC.
  • Presentations must be submitted on flash drives or USB ports. If your presentation contains an embedded video, please be sure it is in avi, wmv, or MPEG format.
  • Presentation rooms will be equipped with audio.

On-Site Preparations:

  • Immediately upon your arrival at The Palace, bring your presentation to the Speaker Ready Room to check it in to the Conference.
  • Allow time to test the presentation.
  • Your presentation MUST be received in the Speaker Ready Room no later than 3 hours prior to your scheduled presentation. (If your presentation is in the morning, be sure to check in your presentation the day before.)
  • Bring a back-up copy of your presentation with you to the conference.

Speaker Ready Room:

  • The staff in the Speaker Ready Room will be available to assist you in reviewing and testing your presentation.
  • Only the presenter will have access to the presentation file once it is checked into the Speaker Room server.
  • At the end of each day, presentations for that day will be deleted from the presentation room PCs and the server.

Presentation Room:

  • A dedicated computer operator will be assigned to each session room and will advance all slides by presenters.
  • At the podium, each presenter will have a preview monitor to view their presentations without turning their heads and a "cue light" to prompt the operator to advance their PowerPoint presentation slides.
  • No overhead projectors will be provided.
  • Each room will be equipped with an electronic timer in full view of the presenter. The time limits will be strictly enforced by the room moderator.
  • Presenters will NOT be permitted to hook a laptop to the digital projector in the presentation room.
  • Microphones will be provided.
  • Please plan on arriving in your presentation room 15 minutes prior to the start of your presentation.

BIO Investor Forum Apply to Present

The aim of the 10th Annual BIO Investor Forum is to bring together a select group of established public biotech companies and top public and private equity investors to foster the development of important new medicines that will expand the industry’s pipeline. Companies interested in presenting must focus on biotechnology therapeutics. With this mission, companies exclusively developing medical devices, platform technologies, or diagnostics will not be considered.

Companies that meet the stated criteria should FULLY complete the application form below.

All of the information provided below will be used for selection purposes only and will not be printed in conference handbooks or as profiles for the partnering system.

BIO events attract the most sophisticated investors in the life science community and provide a robust forum for this community to engage in the advancement of promising technologies that improve and save lives. BIO is pleased to provide complimentary registration to qualified investors under BIO’s investor policy which has been clarified.

Qualified investors are defined as institutional, private equity, angel and venture investors with funds on-hand, whose primary activity is direct investment in research and development companies (e.g., hedge fund, mutual fund, or venture fund). Equity research analysts from investment banking institutions and buy-side analysts also qualify as investors. 

The fund name, portfolio type, and other helpful information is needed for BIO to process your registration appropriately. Receipt of complimentary registration for a prior year's event does not automatically qualify a registrant for complimentary registration in 2016.

Organizations who apply for investor registration, who have a service provider component to their business model, such as investor relations, contract services, organizations who host events that are in competition with BIO’s events, etc. will be ineligible for complimentary investor registration. Should BIO discover undisclosed information about your organization's business model AFTER your application has been approved, it may be rescinded at BIO’s discretion.

BIO Investor Forum Registration Policies

Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing on or before September 3, 2015, (5:00 pm Central Time) to receive a refund. A $395 administrative fee will be deducted from all cancellation refunds. Approved refunds will be processed after the conference.

Cancellation requests received after September 3, 2015 will NOT be honored. Email cancellation requests to BD_Registration@bio.org. Registration fees are not transferable to any other conference.

Substitutions
You may make changes to your record or transfer your registration to another individual by clicking on the URL provided in your confirmation email. This feature is available up until your name badge is printed on-site.

Membership Status
Your company must be a BIO Member in good standing on or before October 21, 2015 to receive the BIO Member Rate. If you'd like to consider membership, please visit our membership benefits page for more information.



Registration fees include access to all sessions, breakfasts, luncheons, and receptions. All attendees must be registered and wearing their name badge onsite to participate in conference activities. Registration may not be shared.

A government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport) is required at check-in. Badges will not be issued without proper identification.

For the purposes of registration for any BIO event, conference or meeting, the classification of a registrant as a research and development company, an industry service provider, an academic & technology licensing officer or a qualifying investor is subject to review by BIO. In its sole discretion, BIO reserves the right to make the determination of the proper classification of a registrant. Depending on this classification, an additional registration fee maybe required. BIO reserves the right to publish materials and restrict conference and/or partnering system access consistent with these determinations. Please note that BIO reserves the right to live tweet conference events, and questions asked by attendees at panels and sessions may be shared on social media.
