2014 BIO International Convention to Highlight Digital Health through Partnership with WLSA
Washington, D.C. (April 2, 2014) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and the Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance (WLSA) today announced a partnership to explore the intersection between digital health and biotechnology through the inaugural Digital Health Zone and Forum at the 2014 BIO International Convention®. This year’s event will be held June 23-26, 2014 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.
“As technology continues to revolutionize healthcare, we are seeing an increased need to highlight the growing potential that lies in the combination of wireless devices, apps and social networks to deliver higher levels of patient-centric care,” said Scott Whitaker, President of the BIO International Convention. “We are excited to partner with WLSA and welcome these cutting-edge companies to our event as they are paving the way for the next generation of healthcare.”
“The BIO International Convention affords a wonderful opportunity for digital health companies to meet and partner with pharmaceutical and biotech firms,” said Robert McCray, President and CEO of the Wireless-Life Sciences Alliance. “As all areas of healthcare continue to become more integrated, these partnerships will create new opportunities for collaboration among next-generation digital health and biotechnology companies.”
Companies featured in the Digital Health Zone are focused on delivering cost effective, high quality medicine in a more personalized and precise manner. Zone participants will have dedicated exhibit space and participate in BIO’s One-on-One Partnering™ system.
