Advance Media Registration, For Freelancers and Web Publications, For BIO 2002 Ends Friday, May 24

Washington, D.C. (May 23, 2002) – The deadline for advance registration for those seeking media credentials for BIO 2002 in Toronto, Ontario is this Friday, May 24. This is also the last date for freelancers to submit assignment letters from editors as well as for web publications that wish to apply for media credentials.

Onsite media registration in Toronto, for credentialed members of the media, will be available starting Saturday, June 8 at 9:00 a.m. Valid, current media credentials (i.e. picture identification from the employing news organization) are required for onsite registration. Without proper, approved credentials, onsite media registration will be denied. Freelance journalists and web-based publications will not be able to register onsite in Toronto.

BIO 2002 will feature six plenary events and more than 150 sessions and symposia, with 800 speakers covering 18 program tracks. More than 14,000 industry leaders are expected to attend. Last year in San Diego, more than 600 members of the media registered. To avoid waiting in line you are urged to register on-line, no later than Friday, May 24.

BIO represents more than 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
