BIO ANNOUNCES 2001-2002 BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 17, 2001) The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today released a list of members of the 2001-2002 Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.

"We are extremely pleased to have industry representatives of such high caliber serve on our board," said Carl B. Feldbaum, BIO president. "Their expertise and leadership will prove invaluable to our membership as our pioneering technology continues to break new ground in finding therapies for diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, various cancers and diabetes, as well as new solutions to improve agriculture," said Feldbaum.

Members elected to the Executive Committee include Chairman David E. Robinson, Vice Chairman for Food and Agriculture Hendrik Verfaillie, Vice Chairman for Health Care Richard F. Pops, Secretary Thomas G. Wiggans, Treasurer Duane J. Roth, and Ex-Officio former Chairman Mark Skaletsky.
