BIO Announces Plenary Session Speakers for the 2014 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announces an exclusive line-up of high-level industry executives for its <a href="http://www.bio.org/events/conferences/plenary-program">Plenary Program</a> during BIO&rsquo;s <a href="http://www.bio.org/events/conferences/world-congress">11th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology</a>. The world&rsquo;s largest industrial biotechnology event will be held May 12 &ndash; 15, 2014, at the <a href="http://www.paconvention.com/Pages/default.aspx">Pennsylvania Convention Center</a> in Philadelphia.&nbsp;</p>

World’s Largest Industrial Biotech Conference to be Held in Philadelphia in May

Washington, D.C. (March 10, 2014) – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announces an exclusive line-up of high-level industry executives for its Plenary Program during BIO’s 11th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology. The world’s largest industrial biotechnology event will be held May 12 – 15, 2014, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

"Consumer demand for cleaner, environmentally healthier products and fuels is creating a market opportunity for biobased products," said Brent Erickson, executive vice president for BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section. “Executives from cutting-edge renewable chemical and industrial biotechnology companies will explore potential new global markets and investments for biobased products during the three-day program.”

Industry executives discuss what it takes to build a successful, commercial-scale biorefinery in today’s regulatory and economic environment.
