Washington, D.C. — January 21, 2004. The U.S. Department of Commerce Technology Administration invites your participation in the United States-Israel Science and Technology (USISTC) Biotechnology Seminar Series. The January 26 speaker is Carl B. Feldbaum, president of the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the world's largest biotechnology association.
Mr. Feldbaum will give a brief overview of the current state of the biotechnology industry in the U.S. and offer his ideas on key ingredients for successful U.S.-Israel strategic business alliances, including a discussion of the scientific, cultural and geopolitical factors unique to Israel that present both exciting opportunities and significant challenges
This Biotechnology Seminar Series is organized in collaboration with the United States-Israel Science and Technology Foundation (USISTF). The objective of the series is to create an ongoing BioRoundtable that will bring together U.S. and Israeli professionals involved in biotechnology and the life sciences in order to discuss critical issues in U.S.-Israel science and technology and to foster development of leadership, alliance and networking capabilities.
Each BioRoundtable in the Biotechnology Seminar Series consists of a speaker presentation followed by discussion and an informal networking reception at the U.S. Department of Commerce. This program will be moderated by Robin JR Blatt, Biotechnology Panel Coordinator (USA) for the USISTC and editor of The Journal of BioLaw & Business.

Audience: The USISTC Biotech Seminar Series is designed for business executives, angel investors and venture capitalists, biomedical researchers, academic institutional leaders, technology transfer specialists, regulatory officials and policy-makers, as well as other interested individuals and organizations.
Cost: Admission is free. Due to space limitations, early registration is required.
