Biotech Career Fair at the 2007 BIO International Convention Offers Unparalleled Opportunities for Job Seekers

Expanded Career Fair in Boston Features New Partners

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 8, 2007) -- The fifth annual BIO Career Fair will take place on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts in conjunction with the 2007 BIO International Convention — the global event for biotechnology. Featuring more than 45 potential employers, the BIO Career Fair provides a unique, complimentary, one-day opportunity for job seekers to meet and network with international organizations in the life sciences sector. The 2007 BIO International Convention, sponsored by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), will take place May 6-9, 2007 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year for the first time, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and BostonWorks, a division of the Boston Globe, join BIO and the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MBC) as sponsors of the Career Fair.

“The BIO Career Fair is like no other biotechnology career fair — it offers job seekers an exclusive chance to meet with potential employers from all over the world,” said Robbi Lycett, vice president for conferences and conventions at BIO. “Partnering with AAPS, BostonWorks, and MBC allows BIO to increase the opportunities at the Career Fair, and continue to make it an excellent chance for career networking in the biotechnology industry.”

The new partnerships will allow AAPS to manage the Career Fair on behalf of BIO, and for BostonWorks and MBC to work with the local biotech-rich community to attract both employers and job seekers. Interview rooms at the Seaport World Trade Center will be made available to participating employers on May 7, 2007 from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Complimentary registration is required to participate in the BIO Career Fair.

John Lisack, Jr, Executive Director at AAPS adds, “The BIO Career Fair will be the sixth event we have managed in partnership with other associations. We feel that BIO will greatly benefit from our expertise in managing events such as this and are pleased to have been selected for the fifth annual BIO Career Fair.”

The Career Fair at the 2007 BIO International Convention will offer the following new features:

· Free seminars on “Marketing Yourself to Your Future Employer” and “Moving Your Career Forward” for job seekers.

· Résumé posting on both the BIO Career Fair Web site and the Boston Globe Web site. Additionally, a recently announced partnership between Boston Globe and the Internet job search engine Monster.com will provide Career Fair participants with additional features; more details on this opportunity will be made as they become available.

· Participating employers will be given advertising space in the Boston Globe.

The 2007 BIO International Convention, will take place May 6-9, 2007 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The global event for biotechnology is expected to draw more than 20,000 international attendees, as well as 300 public officials from more than 30 countries, and will host more than 1,800 exhibiting companies for four days. The 2007 BIO International Convention will showcase the biotechnology industry and its global impact.
