Industrial and environmental biotechnology is working to create products and processes that save energy, reduce or prevent toxic pollution, and maximize the use of renewable materials. Erickson will highlight several biotechnology products that are used in households every day.

BIO represents more than 950 companies, academic institutions and state biotechnology centers in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
