SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 3, 2004) -- The BIO Communications Department welcomes media to BIO 2004, the world's largest biotechnology gathering.  The phone number for the BIO 2004 press room is 415-978-3550, effective June 4-9.  (Note that this number is for press only; the BIO 2004 information line is 415-978-3563.)  The press room opens to journalists Sunday, June 6, at 9 a.m.  The hours are as follows:

·                                                   Sunday, June 6 -- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

·                                                   Monday, June 7, and Tuesday, June 8 -- 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

·                                                   Wednesday, June 9 -- 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BIO represents more than 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
