BIO JOINS REPS. GREENWOOD AND DEUTSCH IN SUPPORT OF THERAPEUTIC CLONING LEGISLATION

WASHINGTON, D.C. - (July 30, 2001) - Biotechnology Industry Organization President Carl B. Feldbaum will join Rep. Jim Greenwood (R-Penn.), Rep. Peter Deutsch (D-Fla.) and other members of the medical research community in support of the "Cloning Prohibition Act of 2001." H.R. 2608, scheduled for upcoming floor action, would ban human reproductive cloning while allowing therapeutic cloning research to continue.
