Final Day of Advance Media Registration for BIO’s CEO & Investor Conference 2003

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 14, 2003) – Today is the deadline for advance media registration for the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) CEO & Investor Conference 2003, February 25-27 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. Onsite media registration in New York will be available starting Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m.

Only reporters and editors working full-time for print or broadcast news organizations may register onsite with valid, current media credentials (i.e. picture identification from the employing news organization). Freelance journalists and web-based publications must meet today’s deadline.

The event will provide a forum for industry experts to discuss the future investment landscape of the biotechnology industry. Plenary speakers include: Mark B. McClellan, M.D., Ph.D, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration; and Christine Poon, worldwide chairman, Pharmaceuticals Group, Johnson & Johnson.

Seven investor sessions will focus on technology advancements including cancer and protein therapeutics, infectious diseases, and rheumatoid arthritis. Eight CEO roundtables will focus on the business side of biotechnology, including SEC rules, FDA reorganization, and intellectual property issues. In addition, more than 190 biotech companies were selected to present at the event.

BIO represents more than 1,000 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers and related organizations in all 50 U.S. states and 33 other nations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of health-care, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
