John Sloan
John Sloan is Senior Vice President, Membership & Business Strategies, at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). BIO is the world's largest trade association representing biotechnology companies, academic institutions and related organizations. BIO members are involved in the research and development of innovative healthcare, agricultural, industrial and environmental biotechnology products.
John develops strategic recruitment and retention efforts for over 1,000 member companies, manages BIO Business Solutions, the largest cost-savings purchasing program for the life sciences industry, and oversees BIO One-on-One Partnering system, a sophisticated online platform for individuals to communicate directly with prospective biotech investors and senior business executives.
John joined BIO in January 2000 and throughout his tenure has held numerous positions including sponsorship sales and development, federal and state government relations, and grassroots programs. Prior to BIO, John served as a legislative associate for Baxter International and legislative assistant for US Representative Bill Richardson. John received a BA in Political Science from Loyola University in Maryland.
