BIO Applauds Passage of Federal Approach to GMO Disclosure

Washington, D.C. (July 14, 2016) – The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) welcomes Congressional passage of a federal, uniform approach to GMO disclosure. 

“The Congress’ strong, bipartisan support for a national GMO labeling and disclosure solution is a win for consumers, farmers, businesses, and agricultural innovation,” said Jim Greenwood, BIO’s President and CEO.

“More than one thousand stakeholder organizations came together in support of this agreement and we commend the many leaders in the U.S. Congress for making this issue a top priority,” added Greenwood.  “We are pleased that President Obama has said he will sign this important bill.”
