Engaging Media at the BIO Patient and Health Advocacy Summit

The BIO Patient and Health Advocacy Summit is an ideal event to make and break news about your organization's mission or your work as a patient or health advocate.  Reporters from medical, trade, consumer, and wire news outlets will be on-site to cover the event. Below are some suggestions to attract media and generate buzz about your organization and your efforts to improve the lives of patients at the Summit:

Pitching Media

Typically by one month out, reporters covering the Summit have registered to attend. Request the list of registered media from Theresa Brady so you can reach out to these reporters to share relevant releases or pitch your story and interview ideas before the Summit. Maximize your chance of being noticed by creating strong messages and effective press materials.

The BIO Communications Team is available to assist you with setting up interviews with targeted media. Please contact Theresa Brady if you need assistance.

Targeting Your Local Press

Engage your local media by letting them know that you are going to attend the BIO Patient and Health Advocacy Summit. Offer to pen op-eds or blog posts about your experience at the Summit and how it relates to your organization’s impact on patient and health advocacy.

Posting on Social Media

Maximize online media opportunities by using #BIOSummit18 on all your social media postings.  Follow BIO on Twitter at @IAmBiotech for sample tweets. Leverage media tools, such as newsletters and blogs, to extend your reach to new audiences.
